A bit more done each weekend!

So we had the painters paint the wall behind the fireplace brown & we are so glad we did so.

The fireplace pops out now instead of being camouflaged!

We got the ceiling fan put up in our bedroom.  It turned out perfect.  The light shades still aren't up in this picture, but they are now.  There is another picture to follow that shows the amber mood lighting!  

So here is a nice reflection on the ceiling of the fan light and it's many facets!

This is another view of the continued brown wall to bring in the brown of the stained glass wood.  That suggestion was made & welcomed by Tasha @ Christmas!

A little bit more done!

This is the red white and blue room which we had to do because of all the great stuff from the previous cabin and we had 2 sets of red bunk beds.

The 3rd view of the r,w,& b room. It will all eventually come together but it was nice to get things out of boxes and put into a room!

A view of the main floor bathroom with walls, floor and cabinet in.  The mirror still needs to be hung but the light fixture is up and the toilet is working!!!

Just a side line of what we saw when we were driving to SandPoint on Saturday.  It was so beautiful and there were lots of places this had occured.

This gives you a perspective of how large it is with me standing there to give the size!

So I bought this bear head years ago and finallly it got hung over our bed in the master bedroom to watch over all in the house!!

This is the bonus room off the masterbedroom.  We brought the desk up from the house and it is a perfect place for it!

You can now see why it is the bonus room, the ceiling slants and we have put the couch that goes in the rec room in here temporarily but it is nice to read on during the night when I can't sleep!

The master bedroom fireplace which we have used quite a bit.  We turn the heat off in the house and turn this fireplace on!  It is beautiful and charming and we enjoy it so much!

So we got the shower door on enclosing the shower, just need to get the hot water tanks hooked to electricity.  Just don't like the black edging that is supposed to be bronze!

So the sink is functional now and we love the esthetics of it!

We got the clock hung.  It is a large clock but on this wall, it looks small.  It is a perfect spot for it though!

So here is the log futon bed frame that we got for $20 @ an estate sale and so we spend a couple hundred and got a very nice mattress for it.  It goes quite well in "the green room" 

The carpet was left over from the basement of our Spokane home!  So great there was enough to fit in the green room, quickly becoming the bear room!

Here is "the brown room" as it turns out! Tis so nice to find all the "things" we have tucked away for this purpose of furnishing this "lake place"!

So each week it is lovely to see what the weather is doing.  The lake is frozen over and we actually saw lots of people walking across the entire lake.  There  were 2 snowmobilers riding all over this a.m. A man on a bicycle rides across also. Robert Graper, our structural engineer and friend said the ice has to be 4" thick to hold a snowmobile weight!!!

So this is currently being done.  This pole goes from the ground all the way up to the roof line.  So our mason wanted to do it in the winter and has it covered till done.  We will put pictures up from the lake side to show it done when the masking is removed!  It looks great and enhances the house from the lake side!

So we got this stained glass years ago in Jackson Hole and this is the window it will hang in eventually!

Nick was very excited to get this fan up in the great room.  It matches well and will enhance that space!

So this dining room set has been in storage in various places ie. the garage, basement @ the office and we are so relieved to finally get it up there and see it in the kitchen!  It is a BIG table and fills the space well!

Yet more painting!

So the only room I didn't paint while Lloyd was here was the rec-room. I got the 3 bedrooms, the 2 bathrooms and the ceiling in our master bedroom done!   I told Nick he had to help so this last weekend after Thanksgiving we spent all of Saturday painting.  It took us almost 12 hours!

Nick's neck got really sore as did his shoulder and elbow and back and body!

It is a milk chocolate brown.  Is there a color scheme here of brown & green? I did all the cutting out which took as long or longer than all the rolling that Nick did!

Here it is with the ceiling and one wall painted.  We had to get it done so the heaters could be placed!

We also got our tax assessment and I have been fighting that!  way too high!

We had professional painters paint the entry, down the stairs, and the great room and kitchen as it is way too elevated.  They sprayed it.  It made it look so easy!  We were grateful for them.   They are currently varnishing the doors and trim work and would be finishing up except that we now have the dilemma of 2 windows that leak.  It is a nightmare to say the least!

More of accomplishments of Lloyd

So while Lloyd was here, I painted and painted and painted to get the rooms ready so he could put the trim work up.  This will be the red, white, and blue room.  One wall is navy blue and the carpet will be red.  We have to have a red, white and blue room for all the memorabilia from the previous cabin! Cyndil said she will paint white stars on the blue and red stripes on the white!  We'll see!

This is the brown room.  Yes it is just brown with 3 walls a light brown!

This is the green room because we have a green bedspread to go in it!  The light fixture was one of the many I got from Mryle.  It is craftsman and kind of Aztec with copper and brass.  The sconce also matches!

So these are the doors to the closet in this room that Lloyd hung also.  They are even more beautiful after they get the varnish finish on them!  

The cabinetry got hung in the kitchen but it is hard to tell.  We were so excited that Lloyd was able to figure out the configuration of where they would go.  It was amazing that they fit as perfectly as they did.

The Deck Railing

Also while Lloyd was here, he got Nick started on putting up the railing for the deck.  Nick worked long and hard every spare moment he could spare which wasn't a lot.  He had to work on it in spurts of time.  It is laid out in this picture.

This is the opening to the stairs to be, leading down to the water!

Nick & I put in the glass and it was a feat in and of itself.  We felt very accomplished and happy when we finished it. 

It makes for a great view of the lake both inside and outside of the place. Glad to cross that off our list.  Nick still has the rail for the stairs left.  We'll get to it eventually!

The Master Bathroom

So while Lloyd was here, we had another guy tile our master bathroom.  This is a picture of the prep work for the double shower.  Lloyd set the cabinet and after the tile was done, he set the toilet so we don't have to go downstairs when we stay overnight (camp in). Yet more things he completed while he was here!

This is the tile laid out.  I fell in love with this tile and yes of course, it was expensive!

There is a mural of the tiles in the center of the shower.  It is exquisite! He is just starting the border along the top edge.  Look @ the completed edge in picture below!

Now a picture of the finished tile.  We now need to order the shower doors!

Another angle of the master bath and it's wonderful tile! I found the sink @ a kitchen shop going out of business.  It is lovely but still haven't got it hooked up to the drainage yet!

The view as you sit on the throne!  Yes, there are little tiles of animals and the border has pine cones and  logs along the edges!

Lloyd's handiwork

So my brother Lloyd came in October for 2 weeks and got so much done.  He hung 16 doors and laid tile in the guest bathroom, made shelves, hung cabinetry in kitchen, did all the TRIM WORK which was a tremendous amount.

Here he is working so hard.  He worked 12-14 hour days.  He stayed there and worked all week.  He had to go home to recover from all the hard work we made him do.  He is a master craftsman and accomplishes so much in so little time.  He was amazing and we were so grateful to have him for the time he was here.
